Print Buying Tips

Print Buying Tips

Over the course of the last 30+ years, we have been in business we have developed many ways to save our customers money.  We have been asked what is in it for you? Our reply is simply if we as a Company can offer more for less, we know we’ll have earned your trust, as well as your repeat business.

We have compiled a list of areas that we are sure can help reduce your printing cost and save a lot of time.

The size. If this is questioned before the design is started, it could save thousands of dollars in materials and press time.

Paper comes in various parent sheet sizes and these sizes all relate to the finished size of the piece
being printed.

The bleeds alone can often dictate the overall press sheet or, parent sheet size. It can mean purchasing
17.5 x 22.5 or moving up to 19 x 25 or larger.

The cost of the paper is the majority of the expense in most cases.

Corrections.  Our philosophy on corrections is a bit different than many other printers.  This is an area that many printers like to hit the customer hard, thinking it makes up for the low bidding.

It does cost us time and materials to make changes after we have gone to proof, and we must charge for this. Our goal is to have the cleanest files possible so we can move the jobs through the shop without any hesitations.  Changes are not always avoidable but it will save time and money if you supply complete print ready files. Striving to eliminate the errors before turning in your files is key to keeping your estimate and final invoice the same.

Ganging your job.  Ask about a possible gang along with another customer’s job that has interest in the gang as well. If you are not on a specific dead line and you can be flexible with paper choice we can gang it with another job that is in the cue to save on those set up and plate costs.

Die cutting.  We have a extensive inventory of dies on hand. Everything from pocket folders to table tents to CD holders and every thing in between. This is a great way to not only save in the die cost but is also a great way to start a design idea.

The Bottom Line. We’ll do anything we can to save you from spending money that you just don’t need to. Give us a call. We know ink and we know paper and we know how to be thrifty. If you want a very high end piece to showcase your business, or just need a simple flyer to get you by, we can do it. We are here for you.
